Disarmament and International Security Committee

A key element of Model United Nations (MUN) simulations is the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), which was founded on January 24, 1946. With an emphasis on international disarmament and security, DISEC delegates engage in diplomatic dialogue to address issues like the spread of weapons, arms control, and regional conflicts. In order to promote global peace and security, members of this committee work together to prepare resolutions, negotiate treaties, and develop diplomatic solutions. With the goal of addressing risks to global stability, DISEC provides a vibrant forum for students to hone their diplomatic abilities, expand their knowledge of international relations, and have productive conversations.
